Romain Grosjean leaves the winter tests in Barcelona certainly more confident than at the same time last year. The Lotus E23 Hybrid, now powered by the turbo/hybrid V6 Mercedes, proved reliable this winter, allowing the French driver to accumulate kilometers and progress in the development of the car.
“We had a lot of work to do with different aero tasks and adjustments, admitted Grosjean yesterday. We are trying to test as many things as possible before Melbourne. In the afternoon we completed a race simulation and other performance assessments. There is room for improvement in some areas, but we have plenty of data to get the car where we want it to be for Melbourne. »
It is the Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado which will conclude the Barcelona tests today.
