Rosberg adds Monza to his list of achievements

Nico Rosberg scored his seventh victory of the season at Monza by winning the Italian Grand Prix for the first time. The German took the lead of the race from the start, taking advantage of a catastrophic flight from his teammate Lewis Hamilton started from pole which dropped to sixth place.

The Championship leader managed to move up the positions and gain the advantage over the Ferrari to ensure a double Mercedes, but his lead over the winner of the day is only two points. The Briton notably gained time with his team's strategy which relied on a single stop compared to two for most of the competitors.

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) completes the podium, ahead of his teammate Kimi Räikkönen. Valtteri Bottas (Williams) ranks sixth among Red Bull de Daniel Ricciardo et Max Verstappen after giving in to the Australian in the final laps.

Sergio Pérez (Force India) takes the points for seventh place ahead of Felipe Massa (Williams) and Nico Hulkenberg (ForceIndia). Romain Grosjean (Haas) failed just outside the top ten after attempting a one-stop race. His compatriot Esteban Ocon (Manor), who started on medium tires from last position, took 18th and last place.
