Rosberg couldn't do better in India

Nico Rosberg got the job done at the Buddh International Circuit. The German managed to maintain his 2nd place despite a bad start where he was overtaken by Felipe Massa, author of a superb start. By carrying out a classic two-stop strategy, the son of the 1982 world champion remained in the fight for the podium and regained his due by taking advantage of the poor condition of Kimi Räikkönen who was in difficulty with his tires. “I had a good pace taking advantage of good settings. I thank the team for the strategy put in place. The only thing that didn't go perfectly was my start where I fell behind Felipe. It was not easy to overtake him on this track, but we regained the advantage in the pits. My goal was to be the best of the others and it worked. »

With his teammate Lewis Hamilton in 6th place, the performance of the drivers from the Brackley allows Mercedes to regain 2nd place in the Championship with 4 points ahead of the Team Ferrari, taking advantage of the poor race of Fernando Alonso. “Sebastian (Hag) did a very good job today and he deserves his 4th title”, underlines Nico Rosberg. “For our team, this race was very important. We scored many points and moved up to 2nd place in the Manufacturers' Championship. I am rather confident about our abilities to maintain this position until the end of the season because the team is working well and the car is competitive, but it will be a tough battle. »
