Rosberg thinks Vettel makes too many mistakes to win title

Nico Rosberg despite having put his helmet in the souvenir cabinet, the 2016 world champion of Formula 1 continues to carefully follow the news of his former sport. The German posted a video on Monday morning from the Monza paddock (Italy) in which he analyzes Lewis Hamilton's sixth victory of the season (Mercedes).

“He proved why he is considered one of the best drivers of all time, he believes. The former Mercedes driver also praises the impeccable work of the brand's strategists at l'Étoile. These used Valtteri Bottas to slow down leader Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and allow Lewis Hamilton to get closer in the DRS zone after his pit-stop.

“Mercedes’ strategy was perfect. Ferrari thought Lewis was going to pit when the mechanics came out of their garage several times, but it was a tactical maneuver. Ferrari recalled Kimi very early and therefore had his tires much more worn at the end of the race. », he adds.

Concerning the clash at the start between the two quadruple world champions, Nico Rosberg leans in favor of his ex-teammate. « Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) veered wide, hit Lewis and spun. It's 100% his fault, Lewis left some room. Sebastian missed his shot. He does not accept the fact of sometimes having to let other drivers pass, so he became too aggressive and crashed into him. That's his fault. » Sebastian Vettel, for his part, believes that Lewis Hamilton bears responsibility for this incident.

In the general classification, the Scuderia driver is 30 points behind Lewis Hamilton with seven rounds remaining. But more than the gap, it is the German's propensity to make mistakes that annoys Nico Rosberg. “You can't beat Lewis by making so many mistakes, that's a fact. He needs to get his act together, otherwise he won't be titled. »
