Author of a third place in the final ranking of the Formula 2 in 2017, Oliver Rowland will put one foot in Formula 1 in 2018. The Briton indeed obtained the position of Young Pilot (Young Driver) within the team Williams. As a reminder, he will rub shoulders with Robert Kubica (reservist driver).
Engaged elsewhere with Manor in non-hybrid LM P1 in the World Endurance Championship, Oliver Rowland will take part in various simulator sessions at the Grove premises (Great Britain) as well as the Young Drivers Test, the new name given to the Rookies Test, in Barcelona (Spain) and the Hungaroring (Hungary). “It’s a fantastic opportunity”, recognizes the former Formula winner Renault 3.5 Series in 2015.

“Williams is a British outfit with a significant heritage and rich history that makes it one of the most respected teams in our sport. My ambition has always been to get a place in F1. Williams has a habit of giving young drivers the opportunity to progress; now it’s my turn to put on a good show and grow as a driver”, continues the Englishman.
