Rubens Barrichello will not abdicate

Starting from 19th position after a mechanical problem with his FW33, Rubens Barrichello obtained a very poor 17th place at the end of the Spanish GP. With 308 starts on the clock, the driver Williams might consider taking a well-deserved retirement.

« Not for the moment. I'm frustrated at finishing nowhere, but it's too early to consider leaving », admits the Brazilian. “ I asked (Sir) Jackie Stewart before the race: 'Jackie, tell me why I still love racing so much. F1 starting from 19th place? »I need that adrenaline, but I need to turn it around. I'm sure I'll get there, but I'm suffering at the moment. »

Rubens Barricchello also does not hesitate to point out the faults present in his stable. “ The team is going through a bad period and this family must recreate a new pleasant environment. There is a bit of individualism and some opinions differ. We hope that Mike Coughlan (future technical director) will move us in the right direction. »
