Sainz in rhythm, Kvyat adapts

For his first day after his return to the stable Toro Rosso, Daniil Kvyat did not panic the clock with the STR11. 12th and 15th of the two sessions contested today on the Catalan track of Montmelo, the Russian is logically facing a period of adaptation in the car from Faenza, a little over a year after leaving Franz Tost's team for the big sister Red Bull Racing.

« There were a lot of things to check and adapt to, as well as trying to find the best compromise for tomorrow, comments Kvyat. We certainly learned a lot today and we know which direction to go to make progress for the rest of the weekend. I already feel at home here, the team has really given me a warm welcome and we work well together. »

For its part, Carlos Sainz apparently found the right formula this Friday afternoon by placing itself in the wake of Mercedes and Ferrari in 5th place in EL2, in his home event. But the Spaniard doesn't want to take anything for granted.

“I feel very comfortable in the car, but we need to continue working because tomorrow everything will be much tighter than today. It looks like we can have a good weekend here in Barcelona though and I'm really looking forward to it. »
