Sauber does not relent in its efforts

In addition to a complicated start to the season on a sporting level with no points scored by Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson, Sauber's financial difficulties remain on the agenda. A situation that the formation ofHinwil hopes to resolve quickly according to the declarations of Monisha Kaltenborn at a press conference in Monaco.

“We are facing some challenges and we are working very hard to overcome the situation and I am confident that we will resolve it soon, admits the Main Team. We have been working on a long-term solution for some time now. We know we need this.

If you look at the current environment, to stay competitive as an independent team you have to have major partners. So, we've always been open to that and we're continuing our work and we hope to resolve these concerns quickly. »

Asked about the comparison with the Peter Sauber period, Monisha Kaltenborn believes that the differences remain too significant to put the two situations on the same level. “Formula One has changed a lot. If you look at the times when Peter Sauber was team principal and I don't take into account when he came back as team principal in 2010, it was a very different sport, business-wise, from the financial and sports aspect.

I don't think you can really compare these eras. The challenges for private teams like ours have become greater over the years, especially due to rule changes over the past few years, which have made some things much more expensive, such as powertrains, but also in terms of income distribution. »

Sauber had recently sent a letter to the FIA and FOM with Force India, to express its concerns regarding the future engine regulations, unveiled by the FIA a few days ago.
