Sauber will try to bounce back at Monza

At Spa-Francorchamps, Sauber achieved the best overall qualifying performance in its history. However, the hopes of the Swiss team were dashed from the first corner in the pile-up created by Romain Grosjean. The C31s were still on the pace in Belgium on one of the fastest circuits of the season. Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Pérez therefore hope to make up for it in Italy.

« At Monza, we will have very little downforce to obtain the best top speed, Kobayashi explains. It is therefore important to have good mechanical grip. My career started in Italy and Monza is one of my favorite circuits. I want to get a good result there. »

Sergio Pérez has fond memories of the famous Italian autodrome and believes Sauber has done the work necessary to shine in the final European race on the calendar. “ The Monza circuit is one of my favorites, and I have already had some very good races there, adds Pérez. En Formula 3, I qualified 14th and yet I won both races. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere in Italy and the Tifosi are fantastic. The circuit is very fast and I think the package we bring will be efficient. The C31 should be competitive in the Italian Grand Prix, which will take place at a circuit as fast as Spa, where our performance was good. »
