Sauber wants to continue its momentum in Hungary

Thanks to the work of the Sauber team engineers, Kamui Kobayashi believes that the Sauber C31 will be at home at the Hungaroring, scene of the 11th race of the season. If he never shone in Budapest, the Japanese intends to make up for it this weekend in order to go on vacation with peace of mind.

“In the past our car hasn't been brilliant on circuits like the Hungaroring, but this year it's different,” Kobayashi said. The Sauber C31 proved that it could be fast on different circuits. So hopefully we'll be in good shape there. Recently we had a bit of trouble when it rained, but in Hungary most of the time the weather is excellent on Grand Prix weekends. This will be the last race before the summer break and it would be very important. If you start with a good result you can enjoy this break and I think after our good performance at Hockenheim we have every chance of achieving that. »

Like his teammate, Sergio Pérez expects the Sauber C31 to be competitive this weekend on a track he likes. “ The Hungaroring is a very special track. It's a bit like Monaco with lots of changes of direction and a particularly tricky intermediate sector. I really like this type of circuit, but also the city of Budapest. We still need to improve our pace in qualifying to be placed higher on the grid. I'm sure the car will be good on this track, as it was at Hockenheim. Last year I was in Q3 in Hungary and this year our car is better. I will give my best this weekend to achieve a good result before the break. »
