Schumacher denies training for F1 return

The shadow of Michael Schumacher was hovering over Spa-Francorchamps this weekend. The Ardennes circuit, close to Germany, saw many German supporters disappointed. Indeed, the announcement of Schumi's return in Formula 1 had led to a significant sale of tickets for the Belgian Grand Prix. But, ultimately, the seven-time world champion found himself 150 km from Spa, aboard a kart, for two races in Kempen. Michael Schumacher also stood out, finishing second and first in both races.

At the beginning of August, the ??Red Baron?? had done several test sessions aboard a kart with a view to his comeback in Formula 1. But, this time, none of that for Schumi, who swears that he only drove to have fun. “ Anyone who thinks this was training to later return to Formula 1 is going too far in their interpretation, said the German pilot. I met friends here, I had a fun weekend. I also made a few calls to Luca (Badoer), the engineers and Stefano (Domenicali). »

After his racing weekend, however, Michael Schumacher admitted that his neck no longer caused him pain. “ I felt good on the track. My neck is fine, I still feel it a little but much less than after my F1 test. » Motivated like never before a few weeks ago to take over the wheel of Felipe Massa during the European Grand Prix, the German driver is not dejected by his true-false comeback and maintains, in any case, his spirit of competitor.
