Schumacher takes responsibility

Starting in 13th place on the starting grid at Silverstone, Michael Schumacher however, was aiming for big points at the British GP. The seven-time World Champion was moving up the positions until he came into contact with the C30 of Kamui Kobayashi. The pilot Mercedes GP had to return to the pits to observe a drive-through.

“I was not able to get good points because of a mistake on my part”, recognizes the Mercedes GP driver. “Using DRS for the first time in the race, I arrived too quickly in the corner. I failed to brake and that's how the collision happened. The penalty was justified, but I don't understand why I had a stop and go and not a drive-through. »

Michael Schumacher still managed to grab ninth place, but he remains disappointed with his race. “My result is a little disappointing”, comments the pilot of the Silver Arrow. “Fifth or fourth place was a possibility thanks to the superb work of the staff at Brackley and Brixworth. »
