Sebastian Vettel, despite Lewis Hamilton

Sebastian Vettel wins his 4th victory in 5 races by finishing first in the Spanish GP. The pilot Red Bull will have experienced a more eventful race than in Türkiye because Lewis Hamilton will have worried the German for a long time. Jenson Button (McLaren) reached the last step of the podium thanks to an offbeat strategy which proved to be effective.

Mark Webber falls just short of the podium. The Red Bull driver did not take advantage of his pole, being overtaken at the start by Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Sebastian Vettel. The Asturian had nevertheless taken the lead in the race, but he was unable to keep up with the pace of the leaders and finished 5th in the race.

Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg offer 6th and 7th place to Mercedes GP. The two Germans completed an efficient race from start to finish, despite the final assault from Nick Heidfeld (Lotus-Renault) who could certainly have taken the advantage over the Silver Arrows with one more lap, the Lotus-Renault driver benefiting from soft tires.

Great result for Sauber which places its two single-seaters in the top ten with Sergio Perez et Kamui Kobayashi, respectively 9th and 10th at the finish. Felipe Massa could have finished in the points, but the gearbox of his F150° Italia gave up the ghost on the 61st lap.
