Sebastian Vettel happy with the RB6

Vice champion last year, Sebastian Vettel admitted in the columns of AUTOhebdo last week that he wanted to do better this year. A difficult objective as the upcoming championship promises to be tight, but not unachievable given the performances of the young German and his machine at the end of last season.

In 2010, Red Bull focused on continuity. The RB6 is an evolution of the RB5, certainly the best car of the field during the second half of the 2009 season. It was still necessary that the integration of a larger tank did not completely distort the behavior of the car, which is not the case according to the one that the car? we nickname “Baby Schumi”.

?Even though the conditions at Jerez were not ideal for testing, the car immediately performed well. In addition, on certain weekends we may be forced to face unpredictable weather so it is always good to be able to prepare for it. We can really be satisfied with the work accomplished. We have already accumulated a lot of kilometers despite some small problems, but it is better to encounter them now than during the race.?

Concerning his competitors Vettel expects to see the big names in front even if all the teams have not yet revealed everything.

“There are no surprises. The biggest surprise comes from the silhouette of the cars. If you look at all the cars, they are not just different colors, but they are also different shapes, with different aerodynamic options. Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and we ourselves are very close in performance. But Toro Rosso doesn?t look bad either. A lot of things can still happen from here in Bahrain, at home, but also at our adversaries. »

Aware of his own potential and that of the machine, Sebastien Vettel still keeps a cool head and does not forget that the competition will be tough. But one thing is certain, he will have to be reckoned with this season.
