Sebastian Vettel takes his second pole

Despite all the efforts of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel signs the second pole position of the season at the wheel of his RB7. Long at the head of the session, the driver McLaren was beaten at the very last minute by the German. On the second row, Mark Webber precedes Jenson Button.

Fernando Alonso fails in 4th position, too far away to challenge the frantic pace of the leading men. The Spaniard, who will start alongside the Lotus-Renault of Nick Heidfeld, will aim for big points in the race tomorrow. New disappointment at Mercedes. Michael Schumacher was dismissed from Q2, as for Nico Rosberg, he finished 8th.

After a difficult start to the season, and an elimination from qualifying in Australia, HRT hoped to do better at Sepang. The results obtained at the end of the qualifications are encouraging for Colin Kolles' troops. Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan managed to exceed the critical threshold of 107%.
