Sebastian Vettel, a “bitter” disqualification at the Hungarian GP

Sebastian Vettel had achieved a second podium this season with Aston Martin by signing second place in the Hungarian Grand Prix behind Esteban Ocon (Alpine). The German driver nevertheless became disillusioned after the race. Vettel was in fact disqualified following the FIA's inability to take a sufficient sample of fuel from the car at the end of the test. “ It's very bitter, because first of all I think that we did not benefit from an advantage, declared the four-time World Champion from Spa-Francorchamps, where the twelfth round of the season is taking place this weekend. Second, there was no intention, or any way that we could actually explain that there was too little fuel in the car. So something happened during the race, I don't know, a leak or something, and the fuel just wasn't there anymore. »

A problem only discovered on the last lap by the British team. “ I think it was the last lap we discovered something might be wrong and we were very surprised to see there was no fuel in the car, remembers the German. It's very bitter, but these are the rules, so we have to accept and move on. » Already second at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the former resident of Ferrari hopes to see another opportunity to score big points for Aston Martin between now and the end of the season. “I think we have a lot of races this year, we don’t know how many but I think there will be a lot… and we will have our chances so hopefully we can take advantage of them. »
