Sergey Sirotkin becomes 3rd Renault F1 Team driver again

Renault F1 Team has confirmed the return to its ranks of Sergey Sirotkin, who will occupy the position of third driver. Jack Aitken is named test driver, Guanyu Zhou, development driver.

Sergey Sirotkin becomes 3rd Renault F1 Team driver again

Sergey sirotkin will remain in the bosom of the F1 in 2019 by rediscovering the colors of Renault F1 Team, in quality of third pilot and reserve pilot.

Holder at Williams Racing in 2018, the Russian had already occupied the position of third driver in 2017 within the French structure, after having been a test driver in 2016.

“It will be interesting to observe Renault's progress in the development of the car, Sirotkin points out. Last season we were rivals and I couldn't see the work going on behind the scenes. I am therefore delighted to join the team as a reserve driver and look forward to working alongside Nico Hulkenberg as well as Daniel Ricciardo."

In addition to Sergey Sirotkin, Renault F1 Team has made official Jack aitken, member of the Renault Sport Academy, as test driver. The Briton and Sirotkin will work most of the time on the simulatorenstone, Aitken adding to this his FIA program F2 with Campos Racing.

Renault has finally placed the Chinese Guanyu-Zhou to the rank of development pilot, he who was previously integrated into the Ferrari Driver Academy.
