Sergio Pérez: “A magnificent comeback”

Sergio Pérez finished 2nd in the British Grand Prix / DPPI

Sergio Pérez finished 2nd in the British Grand Prix, sandwiched between Carlos Sainz et Lewis Hamilton. The Mexican delivered a hair-raising race, after he started it with an accident which forced him to change his front wing. At the end of the race, Sergio Pérez struggled with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton during an exceptional finale to, in the end, somewhat save the weekend of Red Bull following the problems experienced by Max Verstappen (7th). “ It was a magnificent comeback, I didn't give up and the opportunities presented themselves at the end of the race, explains Pérez. Then there were these great battles with Charles (Leclerc) and Lewis (Hamilton).«

Pérez's 2nd place is all the more remarkable as the Mexican had a bad start to his race by being involved in an incident with Charles Leclerc. “ I got squeezed a bit, and I had nowhere to go. My front wing was damaged, it had to be replaced. I started last and moved up from there. » With this 2nd place, Sergio Pérez returns to 34 points behind Max Verstappen, leader in the world championship.
