Silverstone: Alonso finally wins

Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) took the advantage over his teammate Mark Webber at the start of the British GP. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) was in ambush behind the Red Bull drivers and took the lead of the race during the second salvo of pit stops, the Red Bull completely missing the stops of his two drivers.

Sebastian Vettel took the second step of the podium ahead of Mark Webber, who put pressure on his teammate at the end of the race. The team asked the Australian to maintain his position. The Championship leader now has an 80-point lead over Mark Webber. The winner of the British GP is 12 points behind the second Red Bull driver.

Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) narrowly takes fourth place ahead of Felipe Massa (Ferrari). The Brazilian tried to overtake the 2008 World Champion in the final meters, but the two cars made contact and the McLaren driver was able to maintain his position on the finish line.

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes GP) takes sixth place ahead Sergio Perez (Sauber), author of a very good race at the wheel of his C30. The Mexican is ahead of Nick Heidfeld (Lotus-Renault GP) in eighth position in front (Michael Schumacher), author of a nice comeback after his stop and go. Jaime Alguersuari (Toro Rosso) once again entered the points by finishing in tenth position.

Jenson Button was in fifth place during his third stop. But the Mclaren driver retired after leaving the pits, his front right wheel having been badly tightened.

La F1 would resume its rights in two weeks with the German GP which will be contested on the Nürburgring circuit.
