Steiner: “We have to stop losing points”

Haas F1 Team lost valuable points against Renault Sport F1 Team last weekend at the British GP. Le Losange maintains its fourth place in the Manufacturers' Championship with 19 points ahead of the American team with sixth place taken by Nico Hulkenberg.

Gene Haas' structure could certainly have limited his delay without the clash between his two drivers at the start and the abandonment of Romain Grosjean following another contact with Carlos Sainz Jr (Renault).

" I'm not happy. We have to do better than that. We need to stop losing points, explained the Team Principal of Haas F1 Team. We are now able to play for points, but we lose them. We needed to finish in the points last year and we need to stop giving them up this season. »

Haas F1 Team continues to aim for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship after the good performance of Romain Grosjean at the Austrian GP who finished just off the podium. The American team nevertheless finds itself threatened by Force India and McLaren which are only three units behind.

“Those behind us have gotten closer and those in front of us have increased their lead. We must succeed in converting our efforts into good results. We should aim higher instead of spending energy getting out of trouble and trying to catch up.", he added.

Haas will look to regain the lead at the German GP on July 22 at Hockenheim where it took 11th and 13th place with Esteban Gutiérrez and Romain Grosjean in 2016 during its only participation.
