Steiner: Haas F1 is very independent

Haas's good start to the season F1 Team highlighted the approach of the American team which joined forces with Ferrari to have a solid starting point. If certain private stables such as Williams expressed their frustration with the results obtained by this new team, the latter is acting in accordance with the regulations.

“We are very independent.”, assured Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, quoted on the official F1 website. “The regulations clearly establish what can and cannot be done. We can buy all the mechanical elements (from Ferrari), which we do, but the aero development is solely our responsibility. So they don't know what we do and they don't want to know. They don't interfere in any way, we have good relations but that's it. »

The director of the American team maintains reasonable objectives for the rest of the season. The poor result at the Chinese Grand Prix reminded them that not every race could be satisfactory in the first season.

“I see us around the middle of the field finishing in the points when not all the cars finish. We can constantly claim points, but we won't always be able to aim for fifth or sixth place and we know that. We want to show great performances and be respected. We won’t stay in fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship, although that would be fantastic”, recognized Günther Steiner.
