Author of a fourth pole position in a row in front of his audience, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) stands as the main favorite. Apart from Ayrton Senna in Monaco, no driver has ever won the same Grand Prix five times in a row. The Briton can join his idol this Sunday.
However, he must be wary of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), who did not go far from the pole on Saturday despite neck pain. The Finns Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) will not be underestimated either.
On the French side, Romain Grosjean (Haas) will start in eighth place, just ahead of the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Sauber) and Esteban Ocon (ForceIndia). Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) will start 14th.
