Follow the São Paulo Grand Prix sprint race in live text

After Silverstone and Monza, the sprint race format returns for the third and final time of the season, during this Grand Prix weekend in São Paulo. This event is used to determine the starting grid for this Sunday’s Grand Prix.

In the qualifying session, it is Lewis Hamilton who was the fastest. But, the seven-time world champion will start from last place after being disqualified for “technical non-compliance” of its DRS. It is therefore Max Verstappen, who was fined €50.000 for having inspected the rear wing of Lewis Hamilton under Parc Fermé regime, who will start in the lead in front Valtteri Bottas et Sergio Perez.

Pierre Gasly, author of a very good start to the weekend, will start from 4th place, ahead of Carlos Sainz (5e) Charles Leclerc (6e) Lando Norris (7e) Daniel Ricciardo (8e) Fernando Alonso (9e) and Esteban Ocon for the Top 10.

The start of the sprint race will be at 20:30 p.m. (French time).
