Sutil and Liuzzi with Force India

Adrian Sutil, who was able to prove himself convincingly during the last Grands Prix of the season, will continue with Force India next season. If the team had wanted to extend it for a long time, the German driver wanted to keep the door open to a possible departure under a more upscale banner. Mercedes GP, which wishes to field two German drivers in its new team, was notably in the running. Ultimately, Sutil preferred stability within a stable where he made his mark.

« 2010 will be my fourth consecutive year with the team, says Sutil. I feel good here, I feel like family, and if you feel comfortable you can focus 100% of your energy on doing things well. Next season I want to be in the points regularly, maybe even fight for the podium, and the team has exactly the same objectives. We are really heading in the right direction, with our combined energies I am confident that we can achieve even more than last season. »

Vitantonio Liuzzi will also continue in 2010. Third driver at Force India at the start of the year, the Italian took advantage of the departure of his teammate, Giancarlo Fisichella, to Ferrari, in order to inherit his seat. ?Tonio? was able to continue the work undertaken by achieving honorable results in the race, including an eleventh place in Brazil.

« It was always my goal to run back in 2010 and I finally achieved it, says Liuzzi. I feel the five races I did in 2009 were a bit of a warm-up, in order to get back into racing, to learn the car, to get the feeling. Now I feel ready to really compete next season. We were pretty strong in the latter part of the 2009 season so, if we pick up where we left off, I think we could be in for a good year. »
