Sutil remembers Monaco 2008

Some time ago, Force India loudly proclaimed its intention to compete with Renault F1 team. Last weekend, in Barcelona, Adrian Sutil achieved this by managing to contain the attacks of the R30 of Pole Robert Kubica. Seventh at the finish, Sutil was very happy with this performance, and approaches Monaco with full confidence. A race where, more than elsewhere, anything can happen.

“The improvements made in Spain, both technical and mechanical, have taken us to a reasonable level, but we had experienced more interesting ones in the past, says the German pilot. For Monaco we will have another package which could help us a lot. I can not wait to be there. I like this circuit, and I have already obtained good results there. I remember that in 2008, and the accident with Kimi Räikkönen, we were very close to obtaining a very good result, but unfortunately that was not the case. This year the situation is different. I have a good car, and I don't care about the weather. If we qualify well, which is very important, then we can get points or even better. I think that in Monaco everything is possible. You never know what will happen. The race is long, and many mistakes can be made. You just have to stay focused throughout the race and you can get a good result. This is our main objective. Whatever the circuit, we want to score points.”

In 2008, Adrian Sutil was in fourth position before having to retire after being hit by Kimi Räikkönen. Let's hope he performs as well on the Monaco rock this season, at the wheel of a VJM 03 that is much more efficient than his car of 2008.
