The underside of the Piquet accident in Singapore continues to fuel debate. Renault will appear at the World Council on September 23 to answer the accusations made against him. For now, the FIA has offered immunity to Pat Symonds, the engineering director, if he fully discloses the facts that took place during the Singapore GP.
A few days before the Renault team's hearing before the World Motor Sport Council, only Flavio Briatore was not offered immunity among the key people in the case. The Italian could then find himself on the front line in the dock.
