Szafnauer doesn't see Wolff coming to Aston Martin F1

Toto wolff made headlines during a major financial transaction. Mercedes F1 executive director takes shares in Aston Martin, current partner of Red Bull Racing who will take over the Racing Point team next year following the takeover by Lawrence Stroll.

The Austrian businessman, however, denied rumors suggesting a departure from Mercedes toward Aston Martin, ensuring that his investment was not linked to a career plan.

Otmar Szafnauer, the director of Racing Point, believes that Toto Wolff is moving forward on the issue and that he should keep his job at Mercedes.

“He has done an incredible job at Mercedes, but I don’t see him investing in our team, he commented on Sky Sports. It's completely different to have shares in a car manufacturer than in a team F1 who loses money. I haven't spoken to him for six or seven weeks during the Australian GP and I haven't asked him about it. »

“Knowing Toto as I do, I think he is absolutely right, added the head of Racing Point. It was a good time to invest given the market. Toto is pretty smart at this game, I think he makes a little money with these kinds of transactions and I wouldn't doubt his words. »
