Szafnauer: Pérez will stay at Force India

Sergio Pérez should stay at Force India next year according to the words of Otmar Szafnauer, the sporting director of the Indian team, made in Car engine and sport.

“The contract is signed. He will stay with us next year”, commented Omar Szafnauer who clarified that this extension had only been made for one season.

Sergio Pérez has defended the colors of the team of his director Vijay Mallya since 2014. Passed by Sauber F1 Team then McLaren in 2013, the Mexican seeks to find a top team and has a convincing season since he occupies eighth place in the Championship with 16 points ahead of his teammate Nico Hulkenberg, not without having scored two podiums this year with the Monaco and European Grands Prix (in Baku, Azerbaijan).
