Long in restraint for the second seat Alfa Romeo for 2022, having regard to its performances, its meteor trajectory and its status as a member of the Junior Team, Theo Pourchaire will have to wait at least one more year before realizing his dream and moving up Formula 1. This Tuesday morning, Alfa Romeo announced in two stages the end of their collaboration with Antonio Giovinazzi and the appointment alongside Valtteri Bottas de Guanyu-Zhou, who will become the first Chinese driver in history to start a Grand Prix.

Pourchaire remains combative
Obviously disappointed, the Habs had known for several days that he would not enter F1 in 2022. But he took advantage of the announcement to send out a message of thanks on his social networks: “My motivation remains unchanged, he said. I would like to thank everyone who supports me every day, you are incredible. I will still need your support for the last two rounds of Formula 2. I will give my best and not disappoint you", he concluded.
Currently 5th in the championship for his first campaign in F2, Théo Pourchaire is only twenty-two points behind Guanyu Zhou in the standings. In Jeddah (December 5) and Abu Dhabi (December 12), he will try to grab places in the championship before leaving for a new season in the antechamber of the category, most probably at ART Grand Prix, with whom he spent the last two years of his career.
