Timo Glock finishes in style

It's still just as hot as the last free practice session of the weekend kicks off. Air temperature: 35°C, track temperature: 48°C.

The start of the session is very calm, with drivers doing a lap then returning to the pits. You have to wait around fifteen minutes to see the first timer displayed. Felipe Massa, in 1:36:119, was the first man of the day to complete a fast lap.

While Heikki Kovalainen was immobilized in his pit by an accelerator sensor problem, his compatriot, Kimi Räikkönen, took control of the session, with a lap completed in 1:34:935. He then advances Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. However, there is still significant room for improvement.

Timo Glock launches the wave of improvements, then Lewis Hamilton immediately puts him in the lead, in 1:33:999. Following his momentum, the World Champion is the first driver of the weekend to go below the 1:33 mark, with a time of 1:32:975. Ten minutes from the end of the session, the Briton leads ahead of Felipe Massa, Kimi Räikkönen and Timo Glock.

Ce dernier, en pneus super-tendres, s?empare du meilleur chrono en 1?32??605. Au tour suivant, l?Allemand immobilise sa Toyota sur le circuit, apparemment handicapé par des problèmes électriques.

The last few minutes of the session are going to be interesting. Kimi Räikkönen in turn goes below the 1:33 mark. With a lap completed in 1:32:986, he is 3rd.

It is then Nico Rosberg's turn to tackle Glock's time. He signs the best second partial, but fails in second place. A second position hence the immediate dislodgement of Felipe Massa. It's finish. Despite his technical problems at the end of the session, Timo Glock finished in the lead, ahead of Felipe Massa, Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen and Nelson Piquet.

Last, Sébastien Bourdais only completed 7 laps. Disturbed by technical problems, the Frenchman remained immobilized in his pit for most of the session.
