Todt: “A small change”

“A new points scale is a relatively small change, so I really don't understand why everyone is talking about it. » declared the Frenchman in the columns of the Spanish newspaper AS. “There has been a lot of talk about this new rule but it does not represent a significant change to be honest. I believe it is much more important to discuss cost reduction in Formula 1."

As soon as the introduction of this new scale was announced, several voices were raised in protest. Some drivers like the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, even certain promoters who do not want to see the last race of the year become the most important of the season, strongly criticized the decision.

This rule will be studied again at the beginning of January by the F1 Strategic Group according to Bernie Ecclestone. The big financier of F1 would like to see this rule extended to the last three events on the calendar.
