An air of deja vu

Vettel, Button, Barrichello, the most prominent drivers at the start of the season, distinguished themselves during qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix. The hierarchy is definitely well established.

An air of deja vu

By widely modifying the regulations for the 2009 championship, the FIA certainly wanted to redistribute the cards. But did not imagine that a new hierarchy would be established, almost fixed. In any case, this is the observation that we can make after more than a third of the season. In six races, five victories for Button, a success for Hag. And of the seven podiums in qualifying sessions, Vettel was there six times, Button five times, Barrichello four times. They are the most diligent at the front of the grids, in the same way that all three of them are at the top of the championship.

Thus, the new regulations gave a decisive advantage to the teams that exploited them skillfully. The work of the other teams seems to have no effect, as the leading teams are also making great efforts to stay ahead. Barely some stables, Ferrari for example, do they manage to point the snout of their single-seaters at the places of honor? It therefore appears, during this seventh round of the championship, that the Brawn and the Red Bull are the two teams best placed to dominate 2009. And, with the vagueness reigning over the 2010 championship, the teams outside the competition cannot even concentrate on the next season. For these teams, the redistribution of cards is really not a fun game.
