Better braking for Sauber

During winter testing, the Swiss team was particularly hampered by the Brake-by-Wire system. After the first two free practice sessions on the Sepang track in Malaysia, Esteban Gutiérrez explains that progress has been made in this area. “I think it was a positive day. We managed to have no problems throughout the day. From this point of view, it is positive. On top of that, we managed to complete the entire planned program with both cars, so we gathered some interesting information that we can use to make the right decisions for tomorrow. Compared to Melbourne, we have taken a step forward as the braking stability is better. We still have other things to develop and improve. We must evaluate consumption and thus find the best compromise for the race. »

According to Sauber head of track engineering Giampaolo Dall’Ara, Q2 is an achievable goal for the team.Hinwil.
