Spacer issue reduces rolling for Magnussen and Haas

On the evening of the last day of the first week of winter testing F1 2020, Haas F1 Team draws a rather satisfied assessment of its sessions, marred only by the rim spacer problem that occurred this Friday on the VF20 then entrusted to Kevin Magnussen.

Having left the track at turn no. 7, after a puncture following a problem on the rim, the Dane was unable to resume his session subsequently, remaining stuck with four laps on the clock.

“Unfortunately the car was too damaged to be worth trying to restart it, admits Günther Steiner, Team Principal of the Haas F1 Team. Maybe we could have come back for half an hour, but there's no point.

We decided to prepare well for next week because we are changing chassis. To sum up, it hasn't been a bad week, just the afternoon was the only bad part, the rest was very good. »

so Romain Grosjean that Kevin Magnussen considers themselves relatively satisfied with their Catalan performances of the week, with a VF20 which has been placed in multiple configurations to try to cover as many situations as possible on the track.

“We had two and a half days of good running with everything meeting our expectations and I am very happy with it, underlines Magnussen. I'm looking forward to next week and pushing for higher performance and pushing the car a little harder. »
