A rare performance for Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton won the 47th pole position of his career this Saturday in Hungary. More than the number, it is the manner and the lead with which the World Champion dominated the session, as he dominated the start of the weekend at the Hungaroring.

“I think this has been one of the best weekends so far… I don't remember having the performance I have so far here on any other weekend, so I'm really very happy with that. » admitted the pilot Mercedes at a press conference.

The Briton, however, remains cautious about the outcome of the race which he expects to be difficult, in the Hungarian furnace. “The work is not finished on Saturday, I still have a lot to do tomorrow, but I am very happy with how the weekend is going. There is some distance to the first turn and the race is incredibly physically difficult but also technically for the car, but I have confidence in my team and in my car and we hope that we can convert this tomorrow into victory. »

The Hungarian Grand Prix will be followed live with commentary from 14 p.m. on AUTOhebdo.fr, and photos from the weekend can be viewed here.
