Valtteri Bottas: “Singapore more difficult. »

Helped by a Williams-Mercedes very lively in Monza in Italy, Valtteri Bottas was very lively behind the two untouchable Mercedes W05 Hybrid and Felipe Massa his teammate at Williams. If the performance of the FW36s was up to par on the ultra-fast Monza circuit, Bottas is expecting a different race in Singapore this weekend.

“Singapore could be a little more difficult for us compared to Monza, but we have some aerodynamic improvements which should give us more downforce. We go there in the hope of fighting with Ferrari et Red Bull, but we know that Mercedes will be very strong,
admits the Finn. The track is very difficult and there is no room for mistakes. It's a night race, but with the lights it doesn't make much difference to drive. The race is long and it will be a challenge for the cars with tire degradation. For the drivers, physically, it will probably be the most difficult race of the season due to the heat and humidity. »

The first free practices will begin on Friday. The objective announced by Rob Smedley and the Grove team is now clear: to consolidate third place in the World Manufacturers' Championship, taken at the expense of Scuderia Ferrari at Monza.
