Towards a change in the start time of the Grands Prix?

At the start of the 2018 World Championship season F1, several changes around the Grands Prix seem to be taking shape. As we explained to you in issue 2148 of AUTOhebdo, the possibility of seeing Netflix enter the dance with content around events and discipline has emerged and Liberty Media, owner of F1, does not seem to want to stop there.

The American group recently organized a meeting with all the broadcasters, and as reported by the BBC, several ideas would have been put on the table, including one which could modify a parameter that we thought was fixed: the departure time of the Grands Prix.

The European rounds could thus see their usual schedule, set at 14 p.m. for years, be pushed back to 15:10 p.m., with the aim of attracting more viewers.

F1 had already offered some new features in its racing program under the Bernie Ecclestone era with the appearance of night races like in Singapore, or events ending at dusk in Abu Dhabi.
