Verstappen: “You have to follow the rules”

Max Verstappen carried out the first of these two days of “public service” required by the FIA last Saturday. The five-time Grand Prix winner observed the work of the marshals of the Marrakech ePrix (Morocco) as part of his sanction received at the Brazilian GP on November 11 after the altercation he had with Esteban Ocon.

If the Dutchman is used to punchlines, he was more measured in the face of this educational punishment.

“It’s interesting to see the other side. You can't normally spend a whole day with the commissioners, confided Max Verstappen. Everything does its job during the weekend. It's good to see what important decisions can cost. Sometimes a decision can be detrimental to someone but it must be made and the rules must be followed. »

Max Verstappen almost seems to be happy to have attended this race with the commissioners even if the Dutchman did not have the luxury of choice.

“It's a good experience to discover different things in the race instead of always being behind the wheel. This experience was something constructive for me”, insisted the pilot Red Bull.
