Verstappen: “Rosberg didn’t turn”

Max Verstappen complicated Nico Rosberg's race at the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim. The pilot Red Bull energetically defended his position against the local driver by changing trajectory at his braking point. The pilot Mercedes had to delay his braking and go straight ahead, forcing the Dutchman to go out of track limits.

The commissioners had a heavy hand since Nico Rosberg was penalized five seconds, a sanction condemning him to fourth place.

“He braked very late and I saw he was going inside. I opened the door for him, but he didn't turn. He just went straight. I had to go out of bounds, otherwise we would have crashed. Lewis knows what I'm talking about.", explained at a press conference the Red Bull driver who took third place behind Lewis Hamilton et Daniel Ricciardo.

Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, defends his protégé.

“He did wrong., commented the Briton on Sky Sports, referring to Nico Rosberg. The golden rule in a job like this is to lock the front wheels and act like you can't stop. There he seemed to be on his way to Cologne. The commissioners respected the rules and I am not going to complain about it. »
