Verstappen apologizes after losing his temper with Renault

Max Verstappen lost his nerve at the Hungarian GP when the Red Bull driver had to dismount following an engine problem. While tensions remain high between the Red Bull and Renault and that the stable of Milton Keynes will move to Honda in 2019, the Dutchman's disillusionment pushed him to use flowery language in his radio, the content of which was censored by the F1.

“It’s very hard to accept. I was very angry on the radio and there were a lot of beeps,” recognized the winner of the Austrian GP on Sky Sports.

Team Principal Christian Horner, also known for his negative speeches against the Losange, announced that he would let “care for Cyril (Abiteboul) to apologize ».

Max Verstappen nevertheless calmed things down by posting an apology message on his Instagram account.

“The disappointment is still present when thinking about the day before. However, I shouldn't have used those words in the anger of the moment. I was emotional after making such a good start. These frustrations come for a reason, after another unexpected engine failure which has already happened too often in recent years. We came to Budapest with big ambitions and not being able to be competitive makes things difficult to swallow. I'm going on vacation with the hope that we will come back stronger. »
