Vettel admits helplessness against Rosberg

Sebastian Vettel will be able to aim for victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix which he won last year. The three-time world champion moved to the front row of the grid, falling two tenths behind Nico Rosberg's time. If the pilot Red Bull would have preferred to start on the clean side of the track, the latter admits that he was not in a position to go for the Silver Arrow. “ I’m really not disappointed”, admitted the German. “I have to congratulate Nico because he had a really good lap and I think it was just his day. I saw that I wasn't first when I crossed the finish line but I didn't know the gaps. My lap was good, but seeing the time Nico achieved, a perfect lap would not have been enough. He was unbeatable today. »

The Championship leader nevertheless remains confident for the race. Red Bull Racing has implemented a cautious strategy by keeping its hard tires for the Grand Prix and the team's No. 1 driver can hope to widen his lead in the Drivers' standings. “I’m very happy and we managed to keep our tires at the end of qualifying.”, underlined the last winner in Sakhir. “The race will be determined above all by the degradation of the tyres. We'll see what happens but it's definitely a good thing to start at the front. »
