Vettel confident about the reliability of the RB8

Sebastian Vettel signed the third time of the last day of testing in Jerez, 0??729 behind the time of Fernando Alonso (1?18??877). However, the double world champion saw his day disrupted by mechanical damage to the RB8's electrics and was only able to cover 50 laps of the track. If the old concerns of the SREC of the RB7 are still remembered, the German is not concerned by these reliability problems. There are two test sessions and two months of work left for the Taureau Rouge staff to resolve these mechanical problems.

The reigning world champion prefers to focus on the positive points of the RB8. “It was like coming home after a long journey when I got behind the wheel”, he comments. “My first impressions of the RB8 are very positive, although we have to see the state of the competition. We must not forget that we are at the beginning despite the good feelings. We are clearly focusing on speed, you can always make a fast car more reliable, but I'm not sure you can improve the pace of a reliable car. There is no point in worrying prematurely, it?s totally normal to have small problems. After all, that’s what these trials are for. »
