Vettel: 'I'm old enough to realize'

Sebastian Vettel won another overwhelming victory in Abu Dhabi where he scored his third success in five editions. The new world champion, who won his fourth title in a row with Red Bull Racing in India, remains invincible since the resumption of F1 at Spa-Francorchamps and thus won for the seventh time in a row, thus equaling the best performance of Michael Schumacher carried out in 2004 between the European GP and Hungary.

“That’s not what makes me jump in the car,” assures the Red Bull driver. “People see seven races but they don’t see all the work put in beforehand. It's fantastic that everything works perfectly, whether it's the stops or the reliability. The numbers are not important but I am very proud to equal this record. I'm old enough to realize. I remember following Michael (Svhumacher) when he was dominating F1 with Ferrari for many years. It's very special to match such performances, not only for me but for the whole team. Some seasons are special and it is difficult to replicate such years. »

Sebastian Vettel wanted to taunt the FIA by reproducing donuts to celebrate the 37th victory of his career. “I brought the car back, I followed the rules. I hope there is enough fuel left to draw because I had to consume a little more. I had spoken to the commissioners in India. It’s really enjoyable for the spectators and I think they love it. »
