Sebastian Vettel scored his first success in over a year by winning the Singapore GP. Ferrari signs a double with Charles Leclerc.

Vettel returns to victory in Singapore

The Ferrari will have dominated the Singapore GP, but it is Sebastian Vettel who won on the Marina Bay street circuit by beating his teammate Charles Leclerc started on pole. If the Monegasque retained the advantage at the start, the quadruple world champion took the advantage by stopping earlier in the pits to sign his 53rd success in F1 and become the 5th winner of the season.

 

 

 

 

Despite the annoyance of Charles Leclerc not understanding the choice of team and three race interruptions, the Monegasque stayed behind the first Ferrari to secure the double at Maranello. The Prancing Horse stable secures its 3rd consecutive victory and remains undefeated since the restart.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completes the podium in front of Mercedes de Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas. The W10s were in difficulty on the Singapore track, notably the championship leader who saw his 4th place saved thanks to team instructions.

Alexander albon (Red Bull) took 6th place ahead Lando Norris (McLaren). Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) took 8th place after making some nice overtakes.

 

 

 

 

Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) and Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) completed the Top 10 ahead Romain Grosjean (Haas) who had an eventful race. After a collision at the start, the Frenchman hit the Williams by George Russell which caused the first safety car outing.

 

 

 

 

Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) did not sit idly by and was the main leader of the first part of the race where he was the only one to overtake in an observation phase. The Australian finally took 14th place behind Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren) and Lance stroll (RacingPoint).

Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) finished 15th after clashing with Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo). The Finn retired, causing the last interruption of the race, the second being due to Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) who stopped on the track. Robert Kubica (Williams) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) completed the ranking.

Lewis Hamilton will arrive next weekend in Sochi (Russia) with a 65-point lead over Valtteri Bottas. Charles Leclerc and tied on points with Max Verstappen, being 31 units behind the Finn. Sebastian Vettel came back to 6 points behind his teammate. Mercedes maintains a solid lead over Ferrari with 6 races remaining in the season.
