Vettel expects tight qualifying at Chinese GP

Sebastian Vettel completed the first day of testing at the Chinese GP by setting the 4th fastest time, more than a second behind the reference made by Lewis Hamilton. If his delay on the reigning world champion may seem significant, his teammate Kimi Räikkönen has proven that the Ferrari could be effective on a flying lap since he was closest to the Briton with 4 tenths behind. The SF15-Ts also showed promising performance on long runs.

The four-time world champion believes that Scuderia Ferrai still has room for improvement at the Chinese GP, which allows him to remain optimistic. “Overall I’m happy with the car,” says the latest winner of the Malaysian GP. “We should be able to progress... I would have liked to do more laps (48 completed this Friday)... It will be very close (for pole). Mercedes showed himself to be very competitive during both sessions and on all relays… The priority is to be right behind them to have a chance to face them. »
