Vettel out in Q1: “a very bitter feeling”

Certainly, it seems written that this 2019 season should not smile on Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). In front of his audience in Hockenheim (Germany), the four-time world champion Formula 1 had a great opportunity to chase away his demons which seem to be hanging above the helmet.

Alas, it was without counting on yet another mechanical problem during qualifying! From the first installation lap in Q1, the SF90 was dragging abnormally slowly. What followed was a furious reminder the tests for the Austrian Grand Prix, where he was also unable to defend his chances.

"Something broke on the turbo, I don't know exactly what, he told the BBC, even though the Mercedes put together good times. It’s a very bitter feeling. The car was very efficient”, and for good reason: it had achieved the best time during each free practice session in Germany.

“We are missing a great opportunity. We will never know if we had the means to take pole but we had made changes and the feeling was even better. That's life », the wearer of number 5 tried to philosophize. He should start from the last row or from the stands on Sunday.
