Video. The highlight of each GP, from Australia to Hungary (2/2)

>>Première partie<<

Canadian Grand Prix
Star at home, Lance stroll (Williams) ended his race like a shooting star in Montreal. The Quebecer did not go further than the sixth turn, the result of a spectacular collision with Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso).

“I was side by side with Brendon and he pushed me in a little bit, defends the Canadian. I had a moment of oversteer and unfortunately, when I tried to correct the car, it took us into the wall. » For the old pilot Porsche en Endurance, “there was room to pass” outside the curve.

Grand Prix of France
We grant you, the event was not overly exciting, and the monster traffic jams around the Castellet circuit (Var) spoiled the party for more than one spectator. But because France was weaned from F1 for a decade, the pre-race has been full of emotion, with the Marseillaise as well as the passage of the French patrol. The pride of being present on the F1 calendar finally returned, after 10 years of absence!

Austrian Grand Prix
An extremely rare event occurred at Mercedes on the Red Bull ring. Never since its official return in 2010 has the German brand suffered a double retirement due to a mechanical problem. On your mind, Valtteri Bottas suffered a loss of hydraulic pressure on the 15th lap; Lewis Hamilton suffers from the team's bad tactics (he did not stop under VSC unlike the Ferrari and Red Bull) and retires after a fuel pressure fault.

British Grand Prix
In a climate of fierce struggle on the land of the Mercedes team and Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) overcomes the Silver Arrows in the final laps. As in Australia, the German was supported by his team who brought him back to the pits under Safety Car to get new tires.

The overtake on Valtteri Bottas was carried out straight away, diving under braking. “I managed to surprise him. I wasn't sure I would be able to negotiate the turn well but it worked. »

German Grand Prix
From heroes to zero, this is the bitter result of the trip to Hockenheim for Sebastian Vettel. The public's favorite had the opportunity of the year to take a huge lead over a struggling Lewis Hamilton (breakdown in Q1), but that was without taking into account the arrival of rain at the end of the effort. Leader of the race, the four-time world champion is trapped by the wet track, brakes too late and remains planted in the gravel.

“If it had happened elsewhere on the circuit, I could have continued, but not here. It wasn’t spectacular, I didn’t do anything really serious.”, Vettel tries to defend himself.

Hungarian Grand Prix
La “bad luck” start of the season, as Valtteri Bottas explained, resulted in two driving errors. With tires in tatters, the Finn clumsily defends himself against Sebastian Vettel and harpoons him. Miraculously, the two cars are damaged but can continue.

One turn later, it's Daniel Ricciardo who pays the price for driving the Mercedes. Afterwards, the FIA penalized him by 10 seconds, but kept his fifth place.

And you, what is your best memory from the start of the season?
