VIDEO – Leclerc, Verstappen, Norris… The 10 overtakes of the season according to the fans

Taking advantage of the break period while waiting for pre-season testing at the end of winter, the F1 asked its community to elect the 10 best overtakers of the 2021 season, the last Grand Prix of which took place in Abu Dhabi on December 12.

With a total of 22 Grands Prix contested, unheard of until now, fans were called to vote to select the best overtakes. After the counting, here are the Top 10 that F1 shared on its networks.

It is Charles Leclerc which opens the ball in 10th position. The Monegasque joins this end-of-season ranking thanks to overtaking Esteban Ocon during the Styrian Grand Prix. Well helped by the DRS, the pilot Ferrari was able to get rid of his vis-à-visAlpine at the start of the 4th turn of the Spielberg circuit.

Revived in the last sprint, Yuki tsunoda also appears in this ranking. The Japanese is credited with the 9th best overtaking of the year thanks to his maneuver on Valtteri Bottas in the last lap in Abu Dhabi which allowed him to finish just off the podium, his best result in F1.

Faithful soldier of Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez appeared in 5th position thanks to his overtaking from the outside on Daniel Ricciardo during the Spanish Grand Prix. His Dutch teammate is a little higher up in 2nd position.

The pilot Red Bull was able to integrate this ranking thanks to the overtaking on Lewis Hamilton in the final round of the season at Yas Marina. An overtake which later allowed him to win his first world crown, much to the dismay of the Englishman who failed in 2nd position.

The prize went to Lando Norris thanks to a daring attempt on Charles Leclerc. The representative of McLaren had in fact gotten rid of the Monegasque by passing inside the Curva Grande of Monza and even biting the lawn a little.
