In addition to returning to the Antipodes after three years of absence, F1 will discover the brand new version of Albert Park on the occasion of the next edition of the Australian Grand Prix (April 8 to 10).

For the comeback of the Formula 1, initially scheduled for last November, the organizers of the Australian Grand Prix have decided to make some modifications to the semi-urban track to offer “ a brand new show on track for fans. » Thus, 7 of the 16 were modified, including two entirely (10 and 13).

Turn 6 has been widened by 7,5 meters which will increase the passing speed by 70 km/h, from 149 to 219 km/h according to the organizers' forecasts. Also note that the chicane made up of turns 9 and 10 has disappeared, giving way to a long, fast curve.

« These changes mean a faster race with plenty of new battle opportunities for drivers », recognized Andrew Westacott, boss of the Australian Grand Prix, at the time of the start of work in April 2021.
