Vitaly Petrov sees himself on the grid again

He is trying to find his way back to the paddocks. First Russian pilot in history to have been established in Formula 1, it was in 2010 at Renault, Vitaly Petrov sees himself making his return to the premier category next year. This is what he declared in Moscow this weekend, while he was present on the sidelines of the DTM, which would race for the first time in its history in this country.

Having arrived from Caterham last year, the driver suggested to the Russian press agency, Ria Novosti, that the organizers of the first Russian Grand Prix, which is to take place next year in Sochi, are currently in the process of to help him get back into F1. “They help me a lot, because they talk to people, expressed the native of Vyborg. We are working together to find me a place for next year. »

To support his claims, Petrov even cites a few names. So Williams would be one of its opportunities, the team forming a partnership with Russian Time, the GP2 team, and would therefore be likely to welcome a Russian driver. Asked by f1news.ru As such, Vitaly Petrov declared himself “interested in discussing this project. » The other track concerns the Anglo-Russian team Marussia: “I need to understand their plans, why and how they are in F1, if it is just to have a car or to race or if they want to grow. »

If all this seems very light as it stands to see Vitaly Petrov back in Formula 1 next year, the Russians will be able to console themselves with his compatriot Sergey Sirotkin, who is expected to make his debut next year for the Sauber team, after the latter entered into a financial agreement with several Russian investment funds.
